For our Medical Affairs Team in Spain, we are looking for a
Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) IGs (IV & SC) / HAE / API (m/f/d)
This is a home-based position, with 60-70% of time invested in business travelling.
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for generating opportunities and resources to achieve scientific and commercial objectives for the therapy areas under his / her responsibility; cooperate with the sales force to help achieve revenue and profit targets and to enhance CSL Behring’s position and reputation in the market; scientific liaison with customers and with appropriate authorities when required, as well as within CSL Behring.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Liaise with the sales and the marketing teams to:
- Provide field based medical support to the sales force
- Gather and share relevant information on current treatment practices, barriers to change, customers’ preferences for therapies
- Contribute to load the ‘Compass’ CRM system with useful information on field work, facilitating the customer segmentation in the therapeutic areas under his / her responsibility
- Build and develops scientific networks with key customers. Organizes and conducts expert meetings with key opinion leaders to ensure the company’s positioning is well known within its customer group
- Presents and defends study results, safety standards and / or product characteristics at congresses, symposia, Scientific Societies, National Health Authorities, etc.
- Build and develops a strong scientific network of key customers to enable expert meetings as a way to ensure the continuous development of the company’s image. This network will also support the sales development of existing products and the introduction of new launches
- Identify, initiate, implement and contribute to clinical projects (phase IV, PMS and/or pharmaco-economic/epidemiological studies, whether IIT or CIT driven). Disseminate, support and develop at the affiliate level all the available company award programs (i.e., Heimburger)
- Provide targeted hospital physicians and pharmacists with medical information services that facilitate sales development of existing products and of new launches
- For the therapy areas under his/her responsibility, this implies (1) the development of in-depth knowledge of product literatures and publications, (2) manage competitive intelligence to bring value to the commercial organization, (3) participate in regional, national, or international congresses as targeted and (4) prepare and continuously deliver updated sound scientific information to the different stakeholders
- Support & collaborate with the MAM in the preparation, organization and update of the training programs for the franchises under his / her responsibility to ensure the affiliate’s commercial team’s know-how to optimize performance
- As a member of the Medical Department, he / she will ensure compliance metrics regarding Local promotional practices, CSL Code of Responsible Business Practices, the Sunshine Act, local and global SOPs and quality system requirements as appropriate to the position. This may include prompt reporting of adverse reactions, product technical complaints or deviations, completion of required training and maintenance of personal training records
- Position holder will assure the correct sharing of knowledge within CSL Behring, and to properly support the strategic planning processes. This includes the preparation of evidence-based argumentation to support successful launch programs for the products under his / her responsibility
Qualifications & Experience:
- Science University Degree. MBA or commercial specific training would be an advantage
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs, or a related position; with specific know-how on clinical development, drug safety and pharmacovigilance. International exposure would be an advantage. Competence on national medical legislation is considered necessary
- Broad and deep knowledge of the plasma protein market is a plus
- Flexibility to travel: the position is field based; at least 60-70% of work time invested in business travelling
