Living in a house of glass fiber

Vivir en una casa barco

Permanent home, summer residence or weekend, the idea of Tafoni floating home is inspired by the seaside suburb of Sausalito, across the bay from San Francisco (California). The young American designer Joanna Borek-Clement was inspired by this environment "is an example of peaceful coexistence between humans and nature," which makes it unnecessary to produce own construction waste on land. In this case, just release mooring, both to stop home to change their views.
With a winding design, the interior is conceived as an environment open to the views, the feeling of space, although they contain size of 89 m2, is achieved with high ceilings (one of the problems that the author has singled out), the total height of the housing is 5.2 meters, while on the carrier to take advantage of four meters.

California Rocks
The unique geological rock formations of the California coast, which gives this home sea name, oval design inspired interior. And to save space and panoramic, have only been designed completely in height solid walls in the bathroom and dressing room.
These open walls filled with natural light and divide the house into three rooms. The central part consists of an all-glass sunroom which contains the kitchen, dining room and main entrance of the boat. The front is occupied by the living room and the back of a bedroom, both overlooking the bay. Regarding the use of materials in a hypothetical future performance of the project, freeing the designer of choice for the armor of the ship, between glass fibers and concrete, proposes the latter as the best solution for the low price and the erosion the constant rise and fall of the tide on the California coast.

At the moment there has been appraised price, and although it is hard to find a buyer, who wishes to inhabit the Tafoni have to move on foot, because the garage is not included. All things considered, it is always a good way to help health and the environment.
