An opportunity has arisen for a materials test technician to join a multinational organisation who specialise in the development and manufacture of advanced materials within the aerospace, automotive and industrial sectors. As a test technician, you will carry out various physical and mechanical tests on manufactured materials to determine specimen quality. You will also write reports from test result data and assist in the generation of internal documentation.
To be successful as a test technician you should ideally hold a degree in chemistry, material science or closely related discipline and possess hands-on laboratory experience either within a commercial or academic environment.
Test Technician Responsibilities:
- Carry out accurate testing of various materials in support of development and qualification programmes.
- Ensure compliance, safety and ISO regulations are met within your workspace.
- Carry out physical and analytical tests (DSC, Tensile and DMA) to support the expansion of material applications.
- Measure and interpret results and prepare charts, tables, graphs and report other technical information.
- Responsible for storage of finished samples & products and ensuring facilities are kept clean and tidy.
Test Technician Requirements:
- Ideally hold a degree in chemistry, material science or closely related discipline.
- Possess hands-on laboratory experience either within a commercial or academic environment.
- Knowledge or experience around composite materials would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
Salary: £20,000 - £22,000 (Dependant on experience) + Benefits - Pension Contribution - 25 Days Holiday + Banks - Overtime Available
Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm (37.5 Hours per week)
