Your tasks
About This Job:
- Acts as A.I. Technology Lead for s-Metolachlor.
- Delivers specified annual business targets and improves the overall long term capability of the assets, systems and people.
- Acts as Head of QC Kaisten and leads the respective collaborators.
- Is member of the Kaisten site leadership team, the s-Metolachlor Supply Chain Team and is reporting to a Group Leader in Process Technology New Active Ingredients in Muenchwilen
- Technology Lead for S-METOLACHLOR
- Represents Process Technology Active Ingredients in the Kaisten site to ensure efficient and effective technology support
- Acts as the Active Ingredient technology lead for s-Metolachlor, ensures the development of a comprehensive and sustainable AI technology strategy, scouts for process improvements, and maintains the s-Metolachlor process dossier
- Coordinates the development of improvement plans and projects for the area, ensures they are adequately resourced / supported and monitored / progressed against the agreed milestones
- Identifies, gains approval for, and implements improvements (step-change ideas and continuous improvement) in manufacturing effectiveness & quality to enhance business profitability
- Represents the area and the site at appropriate meetings, prepares and issues all necessary area performance reports and is the primary link to global Process Technology Active Ingredients
- Head of Quality Control Kaisten
- Implements and maintains the Syngenta Quality Policy
- Is responsible for compliance with all regulations and guidelines relating to the functions, in particular the regulations on HSEQ, and supports the operations team in these aspects
- Leads a team of 1-3 lab technicians.
Your profile
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
- Experience in or motivation for various roles (i.e. process development, manufacturing, project management, and process technology) is essential.
- Proven track record of highly effective people management and scientific leadership
- A track record of being proactive in defining and implementing improvement projects within a manufacturing or chemical development environment
- Degree in chemistry or chemical engineering
- Deep knowledge in process engineering, modelling & unit operations
- Understanding of chemical reactions, reaction technologies and scale up challenges
- Fluent command of oral and written German and English
- Knowledge of chemical reaction and process hazards, fire and operability hazards, hygiene issues and general environmental hazards.
- Good general knowledge on the regulatory environment
