Are you an experienced Mass Spectrometry Technical Specialist looking for a new exciting job opportunity?

We are currently looking for a Mass Spectrometry Technical Specialist to join a leading company based in the Yorkshire area.

As the Mass Spectrometry Technical Specialist, you will be working within the operations team and involves being primarily responsible for a particular mass spectrometry technique/group of techniques.

This role specifically includes oversight of all MS related projects, responsibility for quote and proposal writing and project design in collaboration with the commercial team


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your duties as the Mass Spectrometry Technical Specialist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. You will be mainly providing specialist analytical support and guidance to junior members of staff and interpreting data sets and results from a range of analytical techniques including UHPLC / HPLC, GC, IC and MS.

2. You will be involved in method development and validation, including drafting of related documents (methods, protocols, reports). As well as writing up reports, you will be involved in project design, proposal writing and analytical problem solving.

3. As the technical specialist you will be responsible for role modelling best practices in your own specialist area and coordinating training of co-workers including liaison with other sites, with the aim of effectively meeting client requirements.

4. Additionally, you will be involved in client liaison, inter-group liaison, internal projects and initiatives.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Mass Spectrometry Technical Specialist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. At least an MSc degree (PhD preferred) in analytical chemistry or related scientific field with relevant experience is essential.

2. Proven industry experience in developing and validating analytical methods, method development research skills and troubleshooting complex analytical instrumentation is essential for this role.

3. You will also need to have experience in project management and experience working in a regulated laboratory (GLP or GMP).
