The Peruvian Minister of Health, Óscar Ugarte, corrected his statements on Thursday and on Wednesday denied that a citizen argentina is the first carrier AH1N1 swine influenza in Peru.

"However, it is an influenza (flu) as aggressively as the until now known as swine flu," and justifies the introduction of health measures, "the minister said.

The World Health Organization (WHO) decided on Thursday to rename the hitherto known by the swine flu influenza AH1N1.

The minister had said on Wednesday that the woman, aged 27, had all the symptoms. "Today we can say is at a 80% confirmation," he said.

Ugarte noted that the woman was on a flight which departed from Mexico to Buenos Aires, with a stopover in Panama, but the commander decided to land the ship in Lima, in view of the citizen argentina had a high fever, bleeding from the nose and sneezing.
Peru maintained, however, increased immigration controls at ports and borders and the suspension of flights to Mexico.
