U.S. confirms two cases of influenza in Virginia

A man and a woman in Virginia are the first two confirmed cases of H1N1 influenza in the state, reported on Thursday the state health commissioner.

Patients are an adult man of eastern Virginia and an adult woman in the center of the state, who traveled to Mexico. People had mild discomfort, so they were not hospitalized, and showed a good recovery.

Commissioner Karen Remley said the state expects to see more cases in Virginia, given its population size, seasonal travel patterns and the ease with which spreads the virus of influenza.
