The Japanese car maker Mitsubishi has begun production at its factory in Mizushima Nippon electric car with European specifications for markets of the Old Continent, according to a statement released by the company.
Specifically, Mitsubishi has begun manufacturing its i-MiEV electric car and two other vehicles of this type for the French group PSA, the Peugeot and Citroën C iOn-Zero. All of them hit the market later this year.
Mitsubishi started making last year the i-MiEV to the Japanese market. Now they export, within the target set by the company to sell 5,000 units of this car out of Japan in the 2010-2011 fiscal year that began last April.
The multinational Japan plans to start marketing the i-MiEV gradually in fourteen European countries, including Spain, France, Germany and the UK, from the month of December 2010. In connection with the Japanese version, the i-MiEV to the European market, with a range of 150 kilometers, includes front and rear bumpers, redesigned active stability control (ASC), new gear selector and new dashboard.
