The Japanese car maker Mitsubishi has begun production at its factory in Mizushima Nippon electric car

The Japanese car maker Mitsubishi has begun production at its factory in Mizushima Nippon electric car with European specifications for markets of the Old Continent, according to a statement released by the company.

Specifically, Mitsubishi has begun manufacturing its i-MiEV electric car and two other vehicles of this type for the French group PSA, the Peugeot and Citroën C iOn-Zero. All of them hit the market later this year.

Mitsubishi started making last year the i-MiEV to the Japanese market. Now they export, within the target set by the company to sell 5,000 units of this car out of Japan in the 2010-2011 fiscal year that began last April.

The multinational Japan plans to start marketing the i-MiEV gradually in fourteen European countries, including Spain, France, Germany and the UK, from the month of December 2010. In connection with the Japanese version, the i-MiEV to the European market, with a range of 150 kilometers, includes front and rear bumpers, redesigned active stability control (ASC), new gear selector and new dashboard.
