Scientific Researcher IDAEA-CSIC C/Jordi Girona 18-26 08034 Barcelona Barcelona, December 02, 2019 Sandra Pérez, researcher at the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) located in Barcelona offers a predoctoral contract position within the PRIMA project INWAT. The 3-years contract will start in January/February 2020. The INWAT project will improve the knowledge about pollution sources and processes that naturally attenuate contamination by chemicals. This includes the standardization of analytical methods, the analysis of organic pollutants in wastewaters, rivers and aquifers and also the investigation of abiotic and biotic transformation processes in rivers and aquifers. The project has a strong multidisciplinary nature and offers marked synergies in several scientific disciplines: environment, ecotoxicology and natural resources management. We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student candidate with a great interest in acquiring knowledge in high resolution mass spectrometry for the determination of the presence and transformation of pharmaceuticals in water samples and aquatic biota. Applicants must have or be about to obtain a Master's degree in Science or an equivalent degree in one of the following fields: analytical chemistry, environmental sciences, biology or pharmacy. Exceptionally, candidates with a Bachelor's degree can also be considered.
