Working for an expanding materials-technology organisation, this is a leadership role which will require you to direct the team from the stage of prototyping new products, to series production for a range of formulations.

Role profile:

* Coaching, leading and expanding all aspects of the specialist print manufacturing activity from the point an order is received, to commissioning at a customer's site.

* Equipping (staffing and resources), running and maintaining a busy production facility.

* Development of the brand manufacturing strategy as the business grows from the point of bespoke manufacturing requests, to series machine production.

* Handling the recruitment, training and retention of staff. Responsible for the day to day oversight of staffing, resourcing, progression and development of a team of manufacturing and production staff.

* Communication and presenting manufacturing updates to colleagues across all levels of the business.

* Working collaboratively with the R&D and NPD teams to drive continuous improvement, design for manufacture and assembly and cost-down initiatives.

Your background:

* Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong influencing and communication style.

* You'll have worked in an environment where high-value, low-volume specialist/precision machinery/instrumentation is being produced.

* You'll have worked with ERP systems such as Ifor or SAP.

* Proven people-management skills - ideally working with shop-floor production teams and scheduling workloads, planning machine builds and reporting progress to SLT.

* Accustomed to working in a quality-driven environment with familiarity with ISO regulations.

* If you had experience of working within a start-up environment transitioning to series machine manufacture, this would be advantageous.
