Italian firm Frilvam says its new silver masterbatch simulates a metallic or metallised surface in plastics, giving the finished article a very high surface gloss. The new concentrate - Prisma UG Silver 82669 - is approved for food packaging and is free from the odours typically associated with aluminium powders. It can be used to produce mouldings or to make films, such as black-silver co-extruded film for mulching in agriculture, says the company.
