The president of Electric Vehicle Forum admits that nowadays is not an alternative

The president of the Spanish Forum Electric Vehicle (Forever), Agustin Aragon believes that the electric car is not currently a widespread alternative vehicle against heat, but believes that there is no market for these vehicles.

Aragon, told Motor Ifema gathered by Europa Press, explained that, currently, with 30 kilos of gasoline can travel over 400 kilometers, whereas this distance in an electric vehicle would require about 700 kilos of batteries, which is almost double their weight.

"In addition, it is not feasible to recharge the car every hundred miles and having to wait almost six hours. Ten thousand cars loading and need a nuclear, hydro or thermal. Today, that's nonsense," he added.

However, also general secretary of FITS (Foundation Institute for Security Technology in Automotive) believes that "no market for electric vehicle," a solution "magnificent" for mobility in cities because it emits no noise or pollution.

"The batteries now allow a range of just over one hundred miles, enough for nearly two days of mobility in most of our urban transportation and urban environment," argued Aragon.

The president of Electric Vehicle Forum highlighted the potential of Spanish industry components to participate in the development of such cars, which contribute to changing production model. "Ultimately, more technology and, perhaps, less metal," he added.
