Graeme Pallas at CK Science is recruiting for a Site Chemist to work at a busy waste transfer station located in the Middlesbrough area.
Reporting into the Site Manager, you will be responsible for accepting hazardous and non-hazardous waste, in accordance with relevant legislation and site permits.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out chemical analysis on incoming loads using a range of wet chemistry techniques.
- Ensuring that all legislative, health and safety and quality documentation is completed in a timely fashion.
- Laboratory housekeeping, ordering stock and consumables and ensuring that all equipment is maintained and calibrated.
To be considered for the position you should be self-sufficient, but able to work as part of a team, and have excellent communication skills. You should be qualified to a minimum of HND (ideally BSc) in Chemistry, or another relevant subject, with a very hands-on approach to work. Experience of working in a waste management environment would be highly beneficial for this position, although not essential as training will be provided.
