quimica - chemistry More round and prominent, but very carefully, beatful ask

It may be easy for unsuspecting patients and eager to improve his body succumb to the promise of a more rounded and prominent buttocks - or other increases - without going through an operating room without the costs involved in the procedure.

It happened a few weeks ago the very Alejandra Guzman, who despite his fame as a singer and ended their economic resources into the wrong hands it performed a procedure that caused an infection that nearly cost him his life.

The plastic surgeon who treated the case of infection explained that it was generated by the application of substances that are injected into cosmetic clinics to mold the buttocks.

The news media have said it's likely that he infiltrated the notorious - and dangerous - biopolymers, also known as liquid silicone.

The singer remained hospitalized for several days and underwent surgery to remove these substances, in addition to receiving intensive treatment with antibiotics and hyperbaric chamber sessions to speed healing of wounds.

The news has been documented through the media with other cases of butt mutilation - and even breasts - caused by the infiltration of improper substances.

`` These substances, such as biopolymers, are produced outside the country and are entered illegally, arriving at beauty salons where they are used in cosmetic treatments without considering the consequences,''said Dr. Leonard Tachmas, plastic surgeon in Miami Beach Plastic Surgery Center.

`` One year, I see about five or six cases related to these substances, such as deformation of the lips and breasts. There are extreme cases where it is necessary mastectomy [breast removal] and then reconstruction,''he adds.

Adverse outcomes can be made evident only days after the procedure, or it may take years until they begin to level deformations.

`` The biopolymer may promote infection and long-term inflammatory changes in the skin, causing a hardening of the area that can lead to pain and ulceration,''said Tachmas.

`` When you reach the area to be cleaned, there are a sort of bubble and scar tissue,''he adds.

His advice is to stay away from this kind of beauty centers that promote the use of seemingly harmless substances.

TWO SOLUTIONS

But hope is not lost for those who dream - and, apparently, every day more - with a `` perfect butt.''

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, in 2007 were carried over 2,500 buttock augmentation, and the numbers are rising.

Of course, as directed to avoid dangerous consequences is placed in the hands of a renowned plastic surgeon.

There are two medical techniques available to improve the shape and size of the area.
