Aglukkaq said during a press conference that the increase of cases "does not change the course of action undertaken by the Canadian Government, and stated that the development of infection is provided by health authorities.
For its part, the Director of Public Health of Canada, Dr. David Butler-Jones said, "is likely to have some deaths, but added that it is below normal during the flu season. In all cases, the onset of the disease has been linked to travel to Mexico.
Just today, several companies have announced changes to their travel routes to Mexico.
Transat AT the Canadian company said it would postpone all its flights to Mexico until June 1, which affects airline Air Transat, a Canadian tour Nolitours and Transat Holidays, Vacances Transat France and Look Voyages.
Another travel agency Canadian SUNQUEST said customers with reservations to Mexico destination may change at any time.
